South Africa 2015

Arrival & the Limpopo Newsroom
I arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday, May 24, 2015 to the smiling faces of Ronel Welman and Emmie van Zyl who greeted me at the airport after a 10-hour flight. After some coffee and breakfast, we hopped in the car (driving on the OTHER side of the road) for the five-hour ride north to the Limpopo region.

Zoutnet Printing Press
I had the opportunity to tour the printing press for the Zoutnet newspapers owned and managed by Anton van Zyl, seen here demonstrating the printing process and precision required for newspaper typesetting.

Tshwane University of Technology
The good folks at Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria invited me to speak to journalism students in June 2015.

South African Broadcasting Company

The Bulletin Newspaper
I had the pleasure of meeting Francois Aucamp, longtime journalist and now publisher of The Bulletin newspaper, located in Tzaneen, South Africa.
